(FootballStL) – With their first pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, second overall, the St. Louis Rams chose tackle Greg Robinson from Auburn.
Robinson is the first tackle head coach Jeff Fisher has taken in the first round of the draft.
According to the Birmingham News, Robinson’s family was displaced after Hurricane Katrina, having to move to Houston and in 2012, Robinson’s father, Greg Blackledge, passed away.
With their second pick of the first round, thirteenth overall, the Rams selected defensive tackle Aaron Donald out of Pittsburgh. Donald is Pitt’s first draft pick since 2011.
Donald won the Outland Trophy, which is awarded to the best offensive or defensive lineman in NCAA Division I-A football. This past season he recorded 11 sacks.
He was also named the ACC defensive player of the year, as well as, the Bednarik Award (best defensive player awarded by Maxwell Football Club), the Bronko Nagurski Trophy (best defensive players awarded by the Football Writers Association of America) and Lombardi Award (best lineman or linebackers).
