(FootballSTL) -- Marshall Faulk says the Rams need Johnny Manziel. The Hall of Fame running back took part in a mock draft for NFL.com and made Manziel the Rams pick with the second overall choice.
“When you look at the NFC West, the two teams at the top, their quarterbacks are dynamic,” said Faulk. “They’re not pocket passers. If Sam Bradford goes down, what do we do? I’ve gotta go with Johnny Manziel.”
Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher has repeatedly said that Sam Bradford is the Rams starter, but there is growing speculation around the NFL that the team is interested in Manziel, the Texas A@M quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner. Faulk believes Bradford’s injury history is enough to rationalize drafting Johnny Football with the second overall pick.
“I’m not done with Bradford, but my future is going to be No. 2,” Faulk said of Manziel. “I don’t know what I’m going to get from Bradford. Coming off an ACL, I have no idea.”
