ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis home prices are going up, but not as fast as prices overall around the nation.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that home prices in the metro area rose 7.9 percent in March compared with a year earlier. That’s based on information from CoreLogic, which said Tuesday that prices rose 0.7 percent between February and March.
The real estate analysis firm says prices jumped 4.5 percent over the year if distressed sales are discounted. Distress sales are homes in foreclosure or threatened by it.
CoreLogic says that nationally, home prices were up 11.1 percent in March compared with March 2013.
