(BaseballStL) — The Cardinals have back-to-back wins for the first time since April 15 and are chasing only their second set of three in a row this season.

Tyler Lyons is also chasing his first win of the season, as he takes the ball against the Braves for his third start.

Despite holding hitters to a .222 average in his first two starts, Lyons has allowed six runs and 10 hits in 12 innings pitched. He has struck out 11 while walking five, but has gotten only one run in support.

His first start in place of the injured Joe Kelly was against the Mets. Despite allowing only two runs on two singles, Lyons took a loss without so much as a run by the St. Louis offense.

Everyone Needs Support

Perhaps Matt Carpenter can help remedy that lack of life. According to ESPN, the Cardinal third baseman is hitting .381 over his last five games with the Braves. Monday night, his two RBIs broken open the scoring to put St. Louis ahead, and his two hits raised his average to .272.

Jhonny Peralta continues his steady climb back toward career averages, going 2-for-4 with a double Monday.

He now has a four-game hitting streak and is 15 for his last 39.

Gavin's Back

Speaking of comeback stories, Gavin Floyd will take the mound for the Braves Tuesday night. It will be his first appearance since April 27 with the White Sox.

Coming back from Tommy John surgery, Floyd has yet to appear in a game for Atlanta this season. The 31-year-old is an even 70-70 in his career, posting a 10-year ERA of 4.48 and a WHIP of 1.33. He is 1-1 in his two starts against the Cardinals.
