(KMOV) – Authorities said Ronesha Milner's mother has lost custody of Milner and Milner's younger sister.

East St. Louis police say Milner somehow got separated from her babysitter at the Orr Weathers Housing Complex around 4 p.m. Monday. Police said she was reported missing just after 1:00 a.m.

Police say the sitter got impaired while watching Milner, who was found by another adult. Authorities say the person caring for the child saw news reports about Milner and turned her over to police at a Foot Locker store in East St. Louis.

Police said Milner was reunited with her mother Tuesday and taken to local hospital where she was treated and released.

Police said they arrested the babysitter and will seek charges against her.

Both Milner and her sister are currently under the care of relatives.
