Suspect sought after off-duty St. Louis police officer stabbed

(KMOV) -- An off-duty St. Louis police officer was stabbed in the stomach while trying to stop a fight just south of Forest Park on Saturday.

According to authorities, the police officer and another man were leaving a business in the 6200 block of Clayton when two men approached them.

One of the suspects stole the man's glasses and refused to return them. As the victim and the two men were arguing, the off-duty officer attempted to intervene. 

Thats's when one of the suspects began fighting the officer, stabbing him in the stomach. The officer was transported to a local hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

Police say they are searching for three suspects in the case.
