(KMOV) – A former St. Charles Community College student on Monday pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace for making a threat against school staff on Twitter.
Emily Kaitlin Cole was fined $500 after agreeing to plead guilty as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. She avoided being charged with making a terroristic threat.
Cole became angry with a school counselor while enrolling for classes on Aug. 21. That's when she tweeted she was going to kill someone.
The tweet read, “SCC is about to get the ugliest side of me, if you see me on the news don’t be surprised. S*** is about to get real, you’ll see it on the news probably BC I’m gonna kill someone, these f****** idiots I swear I’m gonna throw a chair across the office, about to drop out of school BC SCC is the is the biggest S*** hole I’ve ever had to deal with, this dude is gay, I got him. Fat mother******.”
According to court documents, an employee of the college who monitors Twitter saw the tweet and reported it to authorities.
She was arrested and taken into custody.
