Police: Beer worker drove drunk, killed woman

(KMOV.com) -- A former employee of a large local beer distributor is facing a drunk-driving charge from a fatal accident in west St. Louis County in Oct.

Brian Miller was charged driving while intoxicated and careless operation of a vehicle.

Mona Moynihan, 43, was killed on Oct. 27 after being struck by three vehicles as she tried to cross Interstate 44 in Fenton just after 12:30 a.m. Police said Miller was driving one of the vehicles, a Ford Explorer owned by Grey Eagle Distributors.

A report from the Missouri Highway Patrol said Miller admitted to drinking all day and had a blood alcohol level of between .171 and .155. The legal limit is .08.

Prosecutors say they are not pursuing manslaughter charges against Miller since the victim was also intoxicated.

A spokesman for Grey Eagle says Miller is no longer with the company.

Miler’s attorney, Scott Rosenblum, says the accident was an unfortunate circumstance and that his client feels terrible.
