(Missouri Football App) – Since Steve Sarkisian left Washington for USC, Gary Pinkel has been rumored to be a candidate to replace Sark.
On Thursday, Pinkel put that speculation to rest. Pinkel was a guest on ESPN radio’s “Mike and Mike,” Thursday morning and was asked about his interest in the Washington job.
“I’m staying at the University of Missouri,” Pinkel said.
Pinkel was an assistant coach at Washington for 13 seasons under Don James, who coached Pinkel in college. James passed away in October.
Pinkel’s name has been linked to the Huskies’ job before. The Mizzou coach was believed to be a candidate when Sarkisian took the job after the 2008 season.
