(KMOV) – Police have arrested a man they say robbed the U.S. Bank inside the Schnucks in St. Peters on Saturday.

Earl Pitt, 33, was charged with first-degree robbery. His bond was set at $150,000.

According to police, Pitt walked into the Schnucks in the 570 block of Mid Rivers Mall Dr. and handed a note to the U.S. Bank implying he had a gun, though none was ever shown.

Pitt was handed an undisclosed amount of cash and he fled the scene on foot.

Police say officers investigated and were able to identify Pitt as the suspect. He was later arrested in O’Fallon and is being held in the St. Charles County Jail.

According to police, he is also a suspect for a separate robbery at another business on Mid Rivers Mall Dr. on Aug. 26.

Authorities say they have not yet determined whether Pitt is connected to other U.S. Bank robberies in south St. Louis County, Eureka and Town and Country.
