(KMOV.com) -- The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a case of burglary that reportedly spiraled into property damage and arson.
The incident occurred in a home in the 1800 block of West Drive in High Ridge.
According to police, a suspect broke a basement widow and entered the home. Once inside, the suspect reportedly wrote on the walls, threw paint all over the interior of the home and set a fire in the kitchen.
Officers don’t know when the break-in happened, as they didn’t receive a call about the damage until the morning of November 15.
There is no estimate on what the damage costs will be, but several appliances were damaged in the fire.
