Info session being held in St. Louis for prospective plumbers

(KMOV) – An information session is being held in downtown St. Louis on December 5th for job seekers interested in construction work.  The union, representing plumbers and pipefitters, will present information on their fields and how to apply for an apprenticeship.

The event will take place at 10 a.m. at the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment career center, located at 1520 Market Street.

“At the session, counselors from the Plumbers & Pipefitters Eastern Missouri Local No. 562 Training Center will explain details of their apprenticeship program, answer questions about the application process and provide career guidance and networking opportunities,” SLATE said in a news release.

Job seekers won't apply at the event, but will receive information on how to proceed.

"They will know what they need to do to apply.  Once they get that information, if they want SLATE to help them apply or to do the paperwork, they can come here Monday through Friday and we can help them," said SLATE Director Michael Holmes.

Attendees are asked to dress professionally. Anyone not registered with the Missouri Career Centers network will have to register on site.
