(KMOV.com) – Four businesses in St. Clair County are being cited for selling alcohol to minors.
Investigators said they randomly checked 20 St. Louis area stores. Carlyle Food Mart in Belleville is one of the four stores accused of not checking the I.D.s of customers.
“This is when these kids get into trouble. First, you get into trouble and second you get into an accident and die as a result of being intoxicated behind the wheel,” St. Clair County Sheriff Richard Watson said. “We do not want to see anyone lose their life over alcohol.”
Watson said the accused businesses will go before a board and may lose their liquor license.
