ALTON, Ill. -- An Alton school official says students taken to a hospital after a van hit their school bus have returned to classes.
The (Alton) Telegraph reports 11 students, ranging in age from 8 to 10 years old, were on the bus Wednesday when the crash happened shortly before 6 p.m.
The newspaper says the students were taken to hospitals. None of the van’s occupants were injured.
The Alton school district’s assistant superintendent is Kristie Baumgartner. She says she spoke with most of the parents of the affected children and was told their kids had returned to school.
There was no immediate word about any charges or citations.
