(KMOV) – Police are investigating two smash-and-grab burglaries at Brentwood restaurants, the second and third such incidents in St. Louis County Thursday morning.

The first break-in happened at Time for Dinner in the 8500 block of Manchester Rd. around 6:45 a.m. The business appears to specialize in to-go-meals and catering.

It appeared the suspect entered the building after breaking the glass front door with a rock. The suspect then tried to break into the cash register, but failed.

Authorities say the suspect then fled the scene.

The second Brentwood break-in happened at Joy Luck Chinese restaurant on Manchester around 8 a.m. Police say the suspect had to break through two glass front doors to get in. It was not known if anything was taken.

Police were looking into whether the incidents were connected to another smash-and-grab burglary in St. Louis County earlier in the day.

Additional details were not immediately available.
