Oracle turtle predicts first World Cup game winner

Cabeção, or “Big Head,” is a 27-year-old male sea turtle and it’s the new oracle for the 2014 World Cup tournament in Brazil.

Its nickname comes from the name of its species, and it’s one of 23 turtles living in a preservation site.

It became a local star prior to the World Cup when the turtle was given the choice of eating a fish hanging from a Brazilian flag, from a Croatian flag or from a soccer ball placed in the middle indicating a draw.

Residents and journalists from around the world watched while Cabeção made its choice for the first game winner.
