(KMOV.com) – The St. Louis County Council held a hearing Tuesday looking into why the county has been sitting on money meant to help kids.
News 4 learned the St. Louis County Children’s Services Fund has been sitting on $78 million. The fund was created in 2010, and is funded through a sales tax.
At the hearing, several council members questioned why much of the money has gone unspent. However, the fund’s interim director, Julie Leitch, said more of the money is getting to those who need it.
Several non-profits said money from the fund has helped them save lives.
