(KMOV.com) – Authorities are investigating after a man was stabbed, kicked and punched by four unknown men after they asked to borrow a lighter in south St. Louis.
According to police, a 36-year-old man was walking south on Broadway at Keokuk at 2:15 a.m. when he was approached by four unknown men. Police say the suspects asked the man if he had a lighter, which he did not, and then one of the suspects stabbed the victim in the chest with an unidentified object.
Police say the four suspects began to kick and punch the victim after stabbing him.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
