(KMOV.com) – Police are searching for a suspect after a shooting in Jennings Tuesday night.
Police say they responded to reports of a shooting in the 5300 block of Wilborm. Upon their arrival, officers found more than 20 shell casings on the ground and a vehicle riddled with bullet holes. Police said two suspects in separate cars fired shots at each other.
Authorities say a witness told them a neighbor had been shot, but the neighbor could not be located. An apparent victim later showed up to a hospital saying he had been hit by a bullet while walking. It is unclear how the victim was involved with the shooting, but police said he is not cooperating with the investigation.
Residents in the area are concerned because police were hotspotting the area and were just seconds away.
Police say they followed one of the involved vehicles to Lalite Avenue. According to authorities, the unknown suspect dumped his car and ran from police. He is still at large.
The investigation is ongoing.
