Hit-and-run victim wants drivers to slow down on I-270 near I-44

(KMOV) – One driver says a combination of confusing lanes and inattentive drivers made her the victim of a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 270.

Marsha Geary says she just wants drivers to pay attention and slow down at I-270 and I-44. Geary normally takes back roads to work, but Thursday afternoon took I-270 instead. When she got to the construction near I-44, a semi truck driving too fast struck her and drive away without stopping.

Missouri Highway Patrol Sergeant Al Nothum says that the area of I-270 and I-44 is a big problem. He says a few weeks ago in an eight hour span, the highway patrol issued approximately 70 tickets due to an increased officer presence.
