SLU University student attacked with metal pipes, robbed near campus

ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Police are searching for two suspects accused of attacking and robbing a student near St. Louis University.

The victim told police the suspects approached him around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 3600 block of Olive and demanded his wallet. The student refused and kept walking toward Grand.

When the student reached a vacant lot on the south side of Olive near Spring Street, he was struck from behind with metal pipes. 

He was struck several more times before he was rendered unconscious.

The suspects removed a wallet and cash from the victim and fled on foot. 

The student was treated and later released from SLU Hospital for a broken arm and contusions.

The first suspect is described as a black male, light complexion, approximately 25-30 years old, approximately 6' tall, 200 lbs with a muscular build, short goatee, short hair, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark baggy jeans, tennis, shoes and a red baseball cap with S.T.L. on the front.

The second suspect is described as a black male, medium complexion, 5'10"-5'11" tall, 175 lbs with a thinner build, wearing an extremely over-sized, black short-sleeved shirt, dark baggy jeans and a black bandanna on his head.

Neither suspect has been taken into custoday
