(KMOV)-- Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel is touring the St. Louis area Tuesday to survey the “Good Friday” tornado damage.
Zweifel is trying to draw attention to a new program known as the “Harmed-area Emergency Loan Priority” System, or HELP.
He says that HELP will streamline low-interest loans to small businesses in counties hit by the tornadoes or floods.
“[To] make sure that we're helping small business owners in affected areas rebuild and rebuild quickly, we've sped up approval times and eliminated red tape and bureaucracy. In 24 hours they can get a loan approval from a partnered institution," Zweifel said.
He believes the program has about $400 million available for small businesses.
