(KMOV) – Rebuilding tornado-ravaged neighborhoods is a slow process, and it could take at least six months to remove all of the debris in Berkeley and Dellwood that happened as a result of the Good Friday storm.
Dellwood says the city distributed letters explaining that AmeriCorps volunteers are available for cleanup assistance. The city says they have trained volunteers who can operate chain saws and who are skilled at removing debris from private property.
Dellwood says it has not received a lot of calls for assistance, but some residents say they might be wary of filling out an application, which consists of a liability waiver.
In Berkeley, manpower is still in high demand, and the city is asking volunteers to come to city hall to sign up to help.
