HAZELWOOD, Mo. (KMOV) – The Hazelwood School District is working to make its students safer after an attempted sexual assault happened last week.
Superintendent Steven Price said the district is looking at both long and short term security changes, which would include stricter supervision policies when students leave the classroom and enter the hallways.
Last week, a seventh grade girl reported being sexually assaulted by a group of male students in the bathroom.
The students who attacked the victim range from ages 12 to 14, and could face felony charges and expulsion for the assault.
District officials hope to assure parents that incidents similar to last week’s won’t happen in the future.
