(KMOV)-- A drive turned fatal Saturday night, after a man was flung from his motorcycle into the Mississippi River.
Dustin Pierson, 24, was traveling southbound on Route 100 around 8:30 p.m. in Jersey County, Illinois.
Police say he veered to the right side of the road and struck the guardrail. The collision ejected Pierson from the 2008 Suzuki, and he was thrown into the water.  He was wearing a helmet.
Officials do not yet know if alcohol was a factor in the accident.
