CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) -- Police in the St. Louis suburb of Clayton are searching for vandals who caused a significant damage at several businesses.
The vandals struck late Tuesday and early Wednesday, damaging at least 12 businesses. Police say they recovered a stainless steel ball they believe was used in the crimes.
Authorities also believe a pellet gun or slingshot may have been used to break plate glass windows.
One business owner said that several paintings in her business were damaged, along with a huge window.
Nothing was reported stolen from any of the businesses.
