(KMOV) – A 19-year-old mother was arrested after passing out with her 17-month-old daughter in the backseat at a McDonald’s drive-in in Belleville, Illinois, officials say.
As police approached the vehicle, the vehicle rolled forward then struck a curb and came to a stop after hitting a light pole.
Emily Blanton was taken into custody after failing a sobriety test. A family member came to the scene to take custody of the child. A bag of cannabis was also found in the vehicle.
Blanton was charged with driving under the influence, suspended driver’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, and endangering the life of a child.
She was released after posting bond.
