(KMOV.com) – The St. Louis Cardinals and Florida Marlins square-off for the third game in their four-game series tonight at 7:15 p.m. at Busch Stadium. Here are tonight’s starting pitchers:
Javier Vazquez is looking to regain the form he had in 2009 when he had a sub-3.00 ERA for the Atlanta Braves. The 34-year-old right-hander got the victory in his last start despite allowing two homeruns and three walks to the potent Cincinnati Reds offense. He has not thrown more than 94 pitches in a game this season.
The Cardinals have won only one game Carpenter has started this season. That’s right…just one game. It is not because hasn’t pitched well. He has five quality starts in six games pitched this season. He has allowed three or more earned runs in only two games (4/12 @ Arizona, 4/29 @ Atlanta) pitched this season. The 35-year-old has a 2.37 ERA at home in 2011.
