(KMOV)-- An undercover Pine Lawn police officer was arrested for allegedly driving drunk in a police vehicle.
Authorities say the officer was stopped and arrested under suspicion of DUI around 7:30 p.m. Monday at Highway 109 and Wildhorse Creek Road.
Officers got a court order to draw blood from Officer Othman and sent it to the lab to test his blood alcohol level.
The prosecutor's office is not saying whether he refused a breathalyzer test this time, but it's usually after that happens that officers take steps to draw a suspect's blood.
The prosecutor's office is waiting on the results.
Police Chief Ricky Collins says Officer Othman was stopped for suspicion of DUI back in 2006 and refused a Breathalyzer test.
Chief Collins said the incident happened before the officer came to the Pine Lawn Police Department and had stated on his application that the case was dismissed.
Court records show the officer was not charged in that case but did do community service. It was the state's effort to revoke his drivers license that was dismissed.
News 4 also learned that the officer worked for the Northwoods and Country Club Hills Police Departments.
Besides being arrested for drunk driving, he was also booked into the jail for unlawful use of a firearm.
