The United Way along with dozens of volunteers were out in north St. Louis Saturday to help those in need after the Good Friday storms.

United Way CEO Gary Dollar said that one of the biggest needs he has seen is for debris removal. For storm victims with homes in St. Louis that are damaged, but still standing, many need help with cleanup.

Dollar added that another major need among storm victims is food. Volunteers delivered food boxes Saturday, in addition to general cleanup.

“In a storm like this, power is lost, refrigeration is lost, and food is lost. With all the other stresses you have, you need help with food,” Dollar said.

The United Way has seen a great response from neighbors, volunteers, and the entire community.
