These quick to prepare rolls are perfect as appetizers or snacks. This is pretty much a do it yourself project using as much of the ingredients as desired. I have given guidelines but feel free to use more or less.
1 package pizza dough (found in the dairy section with the cinnamon rolls, etc.)
2 1/2 ounces (3/4 cup) pepperoni, coarsely chopped
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dry Italian Salad Dressing Mix
1 cup mozzarella or provolone or a combination of both, grated
1/3 cup asiago cheese, optional
1 can pizza sauce
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment and spray the parchment.
Carefully unroll the pizza dough. Spread the pepperoni evenly over the dough.Sprinkle wit the dried basil, oregano and salad dressing mix. Top with 1/2 cup the mozzarella or provolone. Roll up and pinch the seam closed. If using the asiago, roll in the asiago before cutting. Cut into 3/4 inch pieces and place the pieces cut side down on the parchment. Flatten with you hand. Top each piece with a dollop of sauce and additional mozzarella or provolone.
Bake for about 12 to 14 minutes in the top third of the oven.
Serve warm with additional pizza sauce that has been heated.
Yield: Approximately 20 pieces.
