(KMOV) – Officials with the Missouri and Illinois departments of transportation say the big overnight road concern is refreezing, which means there’s a good chance drivers will run into slick spots.
Crews say that if pavement looks wet, it’s probably a patch of ice. They urge drivers to watch their speeds and to give themselves extra time for their commutes.
Drivers should also pay close attention to exit ramps which can be especially dangerous with black ice.
MoDOT and IDOT crews will be working in 12 hour shifts to treat the roads for Friday.
