(KMOV) – The St. Louis area will be dealing with the snow from Thursday morning's storm for a little while.
With very low temperatures expected in the area, it doesn't look like the snow will be melting anytime soon. News 4's meteorologist Matt Chambers says to expect wind chills near -10 degrees Friday.
The snow is expected to taper of to flurries in the afternoon, and the afternoon commute should be dry.
As expected the weather prompted dozens of area school districts to take a snow day. While many area residents opted to stay home, others did venture out on the slick roadways.
Despite the best efforts of highway crews, roads were still snow covered and slick in most places resulting in numerous accidents.
