(KMOV)--Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at a south St. Louis gas station on the Monday morning.

Authorities say that around 1:00 am, the suspect entered the store on the 1800 block of Arsenal and announced a robbery. The clerk complied and opened the register. The suspect reached in and removed cash from the draw and fled on foot.

Authorities say that a light colored vehicle pulled into the parking lot and was circling the pumps and store, but made no effort to enter the store or purchase gas. Around the same time that the suspect fled the store, the car left the lot turning west on Arsenal.

The suspect is described as a black male between 18 and 25 years of age, 5’9’’ with thin build and light complexion. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, black sweat pants and a black scarf over his face. The suspect was armed with a silver revolver.

There is no information on how much money was stolen.

No one was injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
