(KMOV) -- The St. Louis Police Department is trying to track down a suspect involved in a robbery of a Conoco convenience store New Year’s Day.

It happened just after 6 p.m. at 6428 Chippewa.

Police say the suspect approached the counter at the store with a knife and demanded money.

The cashier complied. No one was injured.

Police also believe that the man accused of robbing the Conoco station us also responsible for another robbery at the Supercuts on Hampton. This robbery happened during the early evening of January 16, 2010.

The suspect reportedly used a knife in that robbery. He matches the description of the bandit that hit the Conoco on Chippewa.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS.

Tips that lead to an arrest could result in a reward of up to $1,000.
