PITTSBURGH (AP) -- T.J. McConnell scored 18 points and Duquesne held Saint Louis without a basket for 14 minutes while turning a four-point deficit into a 19-point lead before going on to 67-45 victory on Wednesday night, its fifth in a row.
Saint Louis (5-11, 0-3 Atlantic 10), which lost its sixth straight, led 25-21 with 2:46 left in the first half following 3-pointers by Cody Ellis and Kyle Cassity. The Billikens then were held to a single free throw, by Brian Conklin, while falling behind 45-26 until Jordair Jett scored with 8:45 remaining.
Duquesne (10-5, 2-0), which had lost three of its previous four to Saint Louis, scored 15 of the final 21 points to end the first half, then started the second half with a 16-1 run. McConnell scored twice during that surge and made a no-look pass to Damian Saunders that led to a three-point play.
