(KMOV)—An area of North St. Louis City is one step closer toward using surveillance cameras to fight crime.
The 21st ward hopes to install 10 surveillance cameras.
According to officials, the ward is close to a deal with ADT Security Services.
Authorities say that police will be able to monitor the cameras by logging onto a secure network on the internet.
Similar cameras are already used being used in downtown, Florissant and in the Metro-East.
