(KMOV) – Often at local military funerals, you see hundreds and hundreds of U.S. flags. Last week, those flags lined the procession route in Bethalto for Lance Corporal Kenneth Corzine.
On Monday in Ste. Genevieve, U.S. flags lined the route for Sergeant Michael Beckerman as he was carried to his final resting place.
There’s one local man who makes sure that U.S. flags fly in honor of the nation’s fallen troops.
Larry Eckhardt is known as the flag man. When he hears of a military funeral, he loads up more than a thousand flags and poles, and drives from his home in northern Illinois.
News 4’s Larry Conners talked to Eckhardt to find out why he does it, and shares that it’s Good News 4 a Change.
