Man charged in Troy burglary, stolen guns found

(KMOV)-- A 30-year-old man was charged for burglary and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in Troy on Friday after authorities recovered stolen guns.

The Madison County Sherriff’s Office said that Joshua Briggs was charged in connection to an incident that occurred on the 9600 block of Blue Spruce Lane in Troy, Illinois on January 5th.
Authorities say that a victim reported that his home had been burglarized around 7:20 p.m. when he returned from work and noticed a computer and three guns were stolen.
Police obtained information on a suspicious blue Chevrolet Truck that had been near the victims home earlier in the day. Police were able to connect the truck to Briggs.

Authorities stopped a vehicle that suspect was a passenger in around 2:00 a.m., on January 6th.
After investigation, police recovered the stolen guns from Briggs.

There is no information on if the victims computer was found as well.
Bond was set at $60,000.00
