(KMOV)-- Two men are in jail after police say one of them hit another man and vandalized his car.

It happened Wednesday morning in Granite City, at 720 Ashland Avenue.

Police say Jeremey Leisgang disliked the victim and his relationship with Leisgang’s sister.

Officials say Leisgang told the victim to leave the house, then followed him to the street after the man moved his truck from the property.

That is when Leisgang allegedly hit the victim, and the second man, David Byrum, came from his house with an aluminum baseball bat.

Authorities report Byrum struck the victim’s truck and shattered the windows.

Broken glass was knocked onto Leisgang’s niece, and five others were reportedly hit in the altercation, including Leisgang’s sister.

Police say one of those victims was able to get the bat away from Byrum.

Both men are being held at the Madison County Jail.

Bond is set at $15,000.
