Cross dressing robber charged with two armed robberies

 (KMOV) – The suspect known as the cross dressing robber has been charged in connection with two recent armed robberies.

Authorities said 28-year-old James T. Duke  was charged with 2 counts of 1st Degree Robbery and 2 counts of Armed Criminal Action. In both armed robberies Duke was dressed in women's clothing and armed with a long-barreled gun. On Thursday Duke was taken into custody at his residence.

Authorities said on January 4, 2010, Duke entered the Family Dollar located at 3636 S. Grand where he displayed a gun and robbed the store of $150. On January 3, 2010, Duke, armed with a gun, entered the Phillips 66 located at 2110 Chouteau and robbed the gas station of $176.

Duke remains in custody on a $250,000 bond.
