2 Explosive devices found in Branson

BRANSON, Mo. (AP) -- A man and woman were being held by authorities in Branson after two suspicious devices were discovered at the Branson Landing.

Branson Police Chief Caroll McCullough said Thursday that the first device was found inside a backpack near an ATM in the center of the Landing, which is the tourist town's upscale shopping area.

That device, consisting of three large fireworks taped together, was collected by a robot and disarmed by Springfield bomb experts.

A second suspicious device that turned out to be fireworks was later found inside a car in a parking garage at the Landing. McCullough likened it to a 5-inch-long smoke bomb with small firecrackers

A 35-year-old male from Florida and a 34-year-old female from Missouri were being held.
