WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Toure Murry scored 15 points and had seven rebounds to lead Wichita State to a 66-64 victory over Missouri State on Sunday night.
Clevin Hannah also scored 15 points for the Shockers (21-6, 10-5 Missouri Valley), who maintained sole possession of second place in the conference by improving to 15-0 at home.
Kyle Weems scored 19 points to led the Bears (17-9, 7-8), who shot 52 percent compared to 37.2 percent for the Shockers. Missouri State had been 12-0 this season when outshooting opponents.
Will Creekmore scored five points in 38 seconds to give Missouri State a 47-42 lead with less than 12 minutes to play, but Wichita State came back despite making only six second-half field goals. The Shockers overcame their lack of field goals with free throws, hitting 29 of 39 while Missouri State was 7 of 14.
Graham Hatch hit two fouls shots with 3:56 remaining to give Wichita State its first lead since halftime, 57-56. After both teams went scoreless over the next 2:40, Gabe Blair completed a three-point play to extend the Shockers' advantage.
Wichita State pushed its lead six twice in the final minute.
Jermaine Mallett kept the Bears in it, hitting two 3-pointers in the final 11 seconds, including one at the buzzer.
Wichita State led by as many as eight in the first half, but Missouri State closed the half on an 8-2 run to pull to within 32-31 at halftime.
