This is the 8th year for the Ball in city hall. And it was quite a sight seeing the building transformed into a nightclub with lights and music. Three floors were open with tables lining the outer hallways and waiters moving fast. The food was served buffet style at several stations and it a good number of people were in costume or least had a mask on.
The mayor says he's comfortable with the Mardi Gras celebration now, saying it is tamer than New Orleans thanks to strict police rules in Soulard, like closing the bars at 11 on Saturday. We'll see how the weekend goes.
