Imagine a parent's anguish outside the scene of a house fire at hearing this: "I ran over to her and asked her how she was doing...she said daddy, I can hear her crying."
I did one of the most painful interviews I've ever had to do today. I talked to Bud and Dawn McCall, who lost thier 10-year old daughter Tegan Ledbetter on Saturday. I can't imagine how many times you would second guess yourself after such a tragedy, wondering if you'd done all you could to save a loved one.
Bud and his family are going through just that, especially his 17 year old son. Bud says the teen had to run past his sister's door to alert his parents that the house was on fire, but the flames spread so fast he and his father were unable to get back to her room. Think about the horror of that.
This seems to be an incredibly strong family, but they could still use help, financially and otherwise. Bud McCall needs a job in the construction industry - he lost his job last year. If you can help, email me, and I'll pass your information along to the family. You can also find out more information on donating at www.slps.org or www.mfdonations.com
