“Art Saint Louis exists as a visual arts organization that creates exhibition, support and growth opportunities for emerging and established contemporary artists.”

For almost 25 years, Art Saint Louis has worked to cultivate an appreciation for the role that visual artists play in our community.   They accomplish this by holding six to eight juried shows annually in our gallery at 555 Washington Avenue, curating off-site exhibitions at local business venues in the St. Louis area, offering educational programs to artists and the community at large, collaborating with numerous community partners and executing an in-school educational program focused on cultural diversity titled VOICES.

Each gallery exhibition is juried by a new, esteemed juror or group of jurors from the St. Louis community. There are receptions for each exhibition; the gallery is open Monday – Friday, 10am – 6pm and Saturdays 10am – 4pm while exhibitions are on display. The Art Saint Louis gallery & the receptions are free & open to the community.

Art Saint Louis’ new logo and tag line recently debuted. They also just celebrated their first year in their street front location at 555 Washington Avenue. (Formerly on the third floor of the St. Louis Design Center at 917 Locust Avenue.)   They are also updating and expanding their educational and development programs to make better use of the additional space.

On Sunday, March 21 is Art St. Louis' major annual fundraiser, Grape Arts, which is an afternoon of four silent auctions, a mini live auction, along with formal and informal wine tastings. From 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., guests will enjoy the silent auctions, informal wine tastings and hors d’oeuvres to music by Silk Pajamas. Auction items include a variety of unique items, certificates and one-of-a-kind artworks by area artists. From 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. guests enjoy formal wine tastings of regional, national and international wines led by local restaurateurs, sommeliers, merchants, collectors and winery purveyors along with a live auction. Admission to Grape Arts is $60 per person. For more information contact Christine Malinee, Art Saint Louis’ Marketing & Development Director at christine@artstlouis.org or 314.241.4810 (3#).

In an effort to development and encourage a Young Professional Group, readers of Kristen In The City will receive a reduced Grape Arts ticket price ($50.00) with a NEW membership in Art Saint Louis.
