ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The U.S. Postal Service is reminding Missourians to clear ice and snow from walkways, porches and steps leading to mailboxes.
The Postal Service warned Friday that icy conditions from the state's current bout of severe weather may produce hazards that hurt mail carriers.
It also encouraged residents to spread sand and salt where mail carriers stop at rural mailboxes.
Patricia Yates is safety manager for the Gateway District of the U.S. Postal Service.
She says the safety of mail carriers is always a concern.
