This morning Governor Pat Quinn says he won the Democratic Primary. While his opponent comptroller Dan Hynes is saying this race is far from over. On the Republican side Senator Bill Brady and Kirk Dillard have just 500 votes separating them. Both decisions could come down to a recount. However, the state of Illinois has tight rules when it comes to recounts. The candidate who wants the recount must ask the court. If the candidate gets the green light for a recount there is another hurdle to jump. Illinois law states that the requesting candidate must pay out of pocket for a recount. It will be interesting to see if candidates will still be eager to contest this race coming Thursday morning.
