St. Charles police searching for owners of stolen lawn equipment

(KMOV) -- St. Charles police are looking for the owners of about $10,000 dollars worth of lawn equipment and other items stolen from garages.

Investigators told News 4 two men stole so many things they can't remember from where they took it all.

All the items stolen came right out of the owner's garages since July, mostly in neighborhoods north of I-70.

The items include gas powered trimmers, compressors, power washers, even a set of golf clubs.

The suspect is identified by police as 21-year-old Dallas Thomas.

Authorities told News 4 they believe Thomas and an accomplice committed so many burglaries even they can't remember them all.

Detectives tracked them down by checking pawn shop records and discovered the mother load of yard equipment.

Some people have recovered their stolen items, but so much is still there.

Police said they want residents in the north end of the city who believe they may have had lawn equipment stolen to come down to the department and take a look at what they have, of course police say they expect that a lot more lawn equipment that was stolen may never be recovered.
