Woman shot to death after argument at Eat Rite Diner

(KMOV) -- St. Louis police are investigating after a woman was shot at the Eat Rite Diner.

This happened around 5:20 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Chouteau in downtown St. Louis.

Authorities say at the scene they discovered a woman had been shot. Shevette Chambers, 30, from Arlington was shot in the cheek, chest, abdomen, and thigh.

She was taken to an area hospital where she died Sunday morning around 6:00.

According to police, a male suspect and four friends were eating at the diner. The victim had been involved in an argument with the suspect inside the diner. The man left but came back a short time later. The victim made a verbal statement and the suspect walked up and shot the victim without saying anything.

According to witnesses the suspect drove off in an unmarked white SUV.

He is described as a 26-year-old black male, approximately 6 foot tall and 180 pounds. He has dreadlocks and was wearing a green shirt with khaki pants.
